19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard courts
A resurgent the Russian player won his initial title for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has had a challenging year, achieving just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in particular - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with former mentor Cervara.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden title after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface since March of 2023.
Victory also signifies he has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters together, so to secure a championship is really nice," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive approach and frequent reactions on court had led some to doubt if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, striving to come to the net and compete assertively, backed up by an better serving game.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five points to gain the advantage.
The pair exchanged service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to force a third set.
The opponent rescued 4 initial chances in a close third set before the champion secured a break to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, he secured the title with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
